Camp Beat: Training off to a good start

Entering his third season with the Timbers in 2008, midfielder Troy Ready weighs in on the first days of training camp and the enthusiasm from the team to be back on the field. Check in often as Troy shares his thoughts on the Timbers preparation for the 2008 USL First Division season.

Here is Troy's preseason camp report:

Wednesday, March 13
Since starting preseason camp on Monday, the first three days of training have been off to a great start! As expected, the excitement to play again has far exceeded the "quality" of play, but at this point it's just good to be training again.

Everyone is encouraged by the new playing surface at PGE Park, both for the sake of the game and for "old knees."

As we look ahead to yet another season, the anticipation of the year is keeping us motivated to improve on last season's successes. Our home and season opener on April 17 seems like decades away ... yet will be upon us soon enough ...

Thanks for the support and hope to see you at our preseason matches against San Jose and Gonzaga coming up later this month.
