Heading into their first preseason action of the season, the Portland Timbers unveiled the team’s three new uniforms Thursday for 2008. Once again, the Timbers have added a third alternate uniform to the mix for exhibition matches this season.

The Timbers will wear new uniforms from Nike, the team’s apparel sponsor. At home, Portland will wear all-green uniforms at home, all-white kits on the road and feature a new alternate “Rose City” red uniform for exhibition matches at PGE Park.
The new alternate uniforms make their debut during 2008 preseason matches.
All three uniforms feature faint same-color, horizontal mesh ribbing through the jersey, with the Toyota logo on the front and Cricket Wireless logo on the back below the jersey numbers.
On the road, the Timbers’ white uniform features solid black numbers and letters on the jersey with the Timbers logo prominently placed on the left chest. As part of the road set, the white short is accented by black numbers on the left leg and the club’s logo on the right leg. Rounding out the road kit is a pair of solid white socks.
For home matches at PGE Park, the Timbers will once again sport all-green uniforms. The jersey features white trim around the collar and sleeves, white numbers and letters and the team logo on the left chest. The short has a thin, four-inch white stripe along the side of each leg that starts at the bottom of the leg. The short also includes white numbers on the right leg and the Timbers logo on the left. While mostly green, the home sock features a patch of white along the calf.
New for the 2008 season are the “Rose City” red uniforms. A deep maroon color, the new alternate uniforms are similar to green home kits with white trim around the collar and sleeves, white numbers and letters, and a Timbers logo on the chest. The shorts also feature a small white stripe up the side and white numbers. A solid red sock finalizes the new alternate look.
The Timbers open the 2008 USL First Division campaign on April 17 against the Puerto Rico Islanders at PGE Park.
