Brown named Team of the Week for Week 11

United Soccer Leagues announced today that Portland Timbers forward Chris Brown was named to the USL First Division Team of the Week for Week 11. Brown recorded his fifth goal of the season on the team's two-game road trip over the weekend.

Brown, who started both games of the road trip at midfield, delivered the go-ahead goal in the Timbers 2-0 shutout victory over the Atlanta Silverbacks on June 28. His goal was originally credited as an own goal by Atlanta; however the league overturned the decision and awarded Brown the goal.

The Timbers split their two-game road trip which saw them play two games in consecutive days. In the first leg of the trip, Portland was handed a 1-0 loss by the Carolina RailHawks.

This is Brown's second USL First Division Team of the Week selection this season. He previously received Team of the Week honors in Week 1.
