Timbers U-23s to hold player tryout March 27

PORTLAND, Ore. –
The Portland Timbers U-23s, the development team of the Portland Timbers, will conduct a player tryout on Saturday, March 27 at Gresham High School as they seek talent for the upcoming Premier Development League season.




The Timbers U-23s tryout is open to all players 17 years of age or older; participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present at the tryout.

The tryout will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a lunch break beginning at 12 noon. Check in will begin at 8 a.m. at Gresham High School.




An amateur team, the Timbers U-23s serve as the development team for the Timbers first team, which competes in the USSF Division 2 Pro League. The Timbers U-23s play a 16-game regular-season from May through July, and compete in the Northwest Division of the PDL’s Western Conference. The PDL is North America’s top amateur league and serves as a developing ground for elite and up-and-coming players.

Date: Saturday, March 27
Location: Gresham High School, 1200 North Main Avenue, Gresham, OR 97030
Time: The tryout will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (check in begins at 8 a.m.). There will be a lunch break at 12 noon and the afternoon session will resume at 1:30 p.m.
Fee: $65
Other details: Participants MUST bring their own soccer equipment, including appropriate shoes (turf, jogging, cleats, etc.), shin guards and other soccer apparel.
