Though the weather feels like mid-July, the calendar turns from September to October and the PGE Park renovation second stage nears the end of its first month of activity. This past week, forklifts crisscrossed the PGE Park bowl, rubble continued to crumble, and the large sweeping arms of excavators hammered with demolition of various areas—some banging down so hard that the vibrations could be felt throughout the entire stadium. But while the piles and dust cleared, across the field cranes helped lift into position more supporting walls as the new eastern sections began to take further shape and definition.
