Wednesday evening’s game in Toronto for the Portland Timbers marked a unique milestone for two players in Darlington Nagbe and Sal Zizzo as both played in their 50
th
career MLS match.
Also coincidentally enough, both players scored on this milestone of nights helping pull the Timbers to a 2-2 draw with Toronto FC at BMO Field.
Though fellow nominee Steven Smith played well—who played a brilliant ball to Nagbe for the second goal AND put in the corner that led to Zizzo’s—while captain Jack Jewsbury put in another solid game in midfield, the vote came down to the fact that for Sal Zizzo, the goal marked his first ever career MLS tally.
With 48% of the vote, he is your CenturyLink Man of the Match.
