PORTLAND, Ore. – Players and staff of Major League Soccer’s Portland Timbers will visit six communities across Oregon and Southwest Washington during the month of January to meet fans and conduct a series of youth soccer clinics as part of the club’s second-annual “Dribble Oregon,” presented by JELD-WEN Windows & Doors.

The six-stop community tour kicks off Saturday, Jan. 5, in Vancouver, Wash. The Timbers will then visit the Oregon communities of Pendleton on Sunday, Jan. 6, Medford on Saturday, Jan. 12 and Astoria on Saturday, Jan. 19. For a second straight year, Dribble Oregon will return to Eugene/Springfield on Sunday, Jan. 13, and Klamath Falls – the corporate headquarters of Timbers Founding Partner JELD-WEN – on Wednesday, Jan. 16.

“As the presenting sponsor of Dribble Oregon, JELD-WEN is very excited about the expanded campaign and new destinations Medford, Astoria, Pendleton and Vancouver, that will welcome the Portland Timbers on the six-stop tour,” said Bill Hueffner, Director of Development & Professional Relations for JELD-WEN. “It's a full day of fun-filled events and we are proud to help bring the Portland Timbers to a community near you.”

Dribble Oregon activities include a free youth soccer clinic led by the Timbers youth/academy staff for children ages 5-13 and an autograph session with select Timbers players. On most stops, the club will also hold a meet-and-greet with select players and mascot Timber Joey at a local pub and participate in a community event with Stand Together pillar partner Friends of Trees.

Dribble Oregon, presented by JELD-WEN Windows & Doors, will lead the Timbers up to the start of preseason training camp on Jan. 19 as the club begins preparation for a third MLS season. The Timbers play host to the New York Red Bulls in their 2013 season opener Sunday, March 3, at JELD-WEN Field.
