No competition as Portland Timbers' Donovan Ricketts wins Save of the Week

Donovan Ricketts, Timbers vs. Impact, 3.9.13

Donovan Ricketts was the easy victor in the race for Save of the Week, because he was essentially only competing with himself.

The Portland Timbers goalkeeper won the award in Week 2 for an early reaction save in the club's 2-1 loss to the Montreal Impact. Ricketts denied Impact forward Marco Di Vaio's open header from close range, leaping to his left to block the shot and keep the game scoreless.

Ricketts eye-opening parry earned 42 percent of all votes, but that wasn't the only save he had this past weekend that was noteworthy. Ricketts' double-stop late in the game came in second place with 39 percent.
