PTFCA Food Cart Preview: July 3 - Mixteca Catering -

During the Timbers match vs. Monarcas Morelia on July 3rd, the Soccer City Grill will be featuring authentic Mexican food from Portland Timbers Food Cart Alliance member Mixteca Catering.

Mixteca will be serving traditional Mexican dishes such as chicken and vegan tamales, picaditas, and tostadas from the Soccer City Grill concession stand above Section 93 in the southeast corner of the stadium.

Mixteca opened its first cart one year ago at the St. Johns Farmers Market. Their second cart opened later at the Lloyd Farmers Market. Guadencio Felipe of Mixteca says being part of both farmers markets is nice because it allows Mixteca to serve to both a family atmosphere and a business professional environment. Mixteca is currently working with Haciencda Community Development Corporation in order to open a third cart at the Mercado Latino.

Felipe says serving at the Timbers game on Wednesday is a huge step forward into being part of the Portland food scene.

“We see this event as an opportunity for people to sample food and to get to know us,” Felipe said. “Mixteca Catering would not have imagined that we could be part of the Timbers Organization and have tremendous support for small local businesses.”
