Jurgen Klinsmann finalized the US national team’s roster Friday ahead of the final portion of January camp back in Southern California, paring it down from the 26 players who are currently in São Paulo, Brazil, to 22. Portland Timbers defender Michael Harrington (above) is among those continuing with the USMNT camp in Carson, Calif.

Colorado Rapids defenders Chris Klute and Shane O'Neill, Sporting Kansas City defenders Chance Myers and Seth Sinovic, and Houston Dynamo goalkeeper Tally Hall have been sent back to their clubs. Columbus Crew defender Michael Parkhurst has been added to the roster and will join the team in Los Angeles.

The team will return from Brazil on Saturday and have the weekend off before getting back to work for the final week of preparation before their Feb. 1 friendly against Korea Republic at StubHub Center. The squad has spent the last two weeks in Brazil going through a “dry run” for the 2014 World Cup.

"All of the players have put in a tremendous amount of work and effort these past two weeks," Klinsmann said in a statement. "We had a great opportunity to introduce some new players into the senior national team program and they have done extremely well. I think they have a bright future, and now they go back to their clubs with a better understanding of what it takes at the international level. We now move forward with the chance to finish off the camp with the goal of getting a result against Korea."
