The Sports Business Journal released their 80 nominees in15 categories today for their seventh annual Sports Business Awards. The Portland Timbers received a nomination for Sports Team of the Year. Fellow nominees included MLB's Boston Red Sox, the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks, the NBA's Golden State Warriors, the NFL's Seattle Seahawks and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association.
Each of the nominees are recognized for
"excellence and outstanding achievement in the business of sports for the period from March 1, 2013, to Feb. 28, 2014."
The winner will be announced with all of the other SBJ awards at a special ceremony on May 21 at the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square.
