PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers today announced that the club has waived midfielder Aaron Long.
A second-round draft pick (No. 36 overall) in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft from the University of California-Riverside, Long, 21, played the majority of the first half of the 2014 season on loan with USL PRO clubs Sacramento Republic FC and Orange County Blues FC. Long appeared in two matches for Sacramento and three matches for Orange County on loan this season.
