While Portland Timbers midfielder Will Johnson suffered a fractured tibia and fibula in his right leg in a collision for a 50-50 ball with Toronto FC defender Mark Bloom in the team's 3-2 loss to the Reds on Sunday, fast support from across the league wishing for a quick recovery for the Portland captain came from all corners. Johnson underwent successful surgery in Toronto and is expected to miss approximately six months.
Timbers head coach Caleb Porter talked about Johnson's injury following the match.
"We certainly feel for Will and will miss him.”

Toronto midfielder Michael Bradley, friends with Johnson since they grew up playing soccer together in youth clubs in Chicago, also talked about the injury.
