Thorns FC acquire international roster spot from FC Kansas City in exchange for defender Becca Moros

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Thorns FC have acquired an additional international roster spot for the 2015 and 2016 NWSL seasons from FC Kansas City in exchange for defender Becca Moros, it was announced today.


Moros, 29, appeared in 18 matches (13 starts) for Thorns FC during the 2014 regular season. Prior to her arrival in Portland, Moros played two seasons with INAC Kobe Leonessa in Japan, appearing in 37 matches (27 starts). 


“I’ve had the pleasure of coaching Becca as a youth and a professional player and her consistency, commitment and desire to play and train make her a true professional in every sense of the word,” said Thorns FC head coach Paul Riley. “I wish her all the best in her future in Kansas City and would like to thank her for her massive contributions last season.”


Moros began her professional career in Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS), playing with the Washington Freedom (2009-2010), magicJack (2011) and the Western New York Flash (2011).
