Quick Strikes by Simple | Portland Timbers vs. FC Dallas | July 25, 2015

Quick Strikes, Timbers @ FCD, 7.25.15

In April, the Portland Timbers knocked off FC Dallas for its first victory of the season with a 3-1 win at home. On Saturday, Portland will look to notch its tenth victory of the season when the clubs meet for the second and final time in 2015 (6pm PT, ROOT SPORTS). Here are five numbers to know for #FCDvPOR in the latest Quick Strikes by Simple.

6Darlington Nagbe will look to continue his scoring form against FC Dallas. The midfielder has scored six goals across all competitive matches against Dallas, five of which have come in regular season matches. Nagbe's five goals tie Diego Valeri against Chivas USA for most career league goals by a Timbers player against an MLS team.

3 Just three points separate first-place FC Dallas and the sixth-place Timbers in the current MLS Western Conference standings. If the race stays as tight as it is now, it will set the record for fewest points between first and sixth in a conference, surpassing the 2013 MLS Western Conference standings that saw the Timbers finish six points higher than sixth-place San Jose.

71, 52, 43 The three players that have completed the most dribbles in MLS this season could be featured in Saturday's matchup. Fabian Castillo of FC Dallas has completed a league-high 71 dribbles, while Nagbe and Alvas Powell have completed 52 and 43 dribbles, respectively.

2.17 In the club's last six games against FC Dallas in all competitions, Portland has averaged 2.17 goals. The Timbers have scored in each of those six matches and notched three goals on two occasions.

1 Portland has lost only once in their last eight MLS games against FC Dallas earning points in seven of their last eight results for a record of 4-1-3.
