Adam Kwarasey, Timbers @ SJ, 8.2.15

The Portland Timbers ended its road losing streak Sunday, shutting out the San Jose Earthquakes for a 0-0 draw at Avaya Stadium. Here are three #StatMan takeaways from the match.

9 With the shutout, Adam Kwarasey moves into first place by himself for shutouts among goalkeepers this season with nine. Defenders Liam Ridgewell and Jorge Villafana have also started in all nine shutouts this season, which ties them for most clean sheets by a defender with Seattle's Tyrone Mears and Sporting Kansas City's Matt Besler

55 Contributing to the shutout was an all-around impressive defense that made 55 clearances during the match. That is the most clearances Portland has made in a match since 2013 and second-most in a match this season by any MLS club.

8 Midfielder Will Johnson returned to the lineup for his eighth start of the 2015 season. In those eight starts, the Timbers have shut out their opponent five times and have a record of 5-1-2.
