T2's Dairon Asprilla named to USL Team of the Week for Week 23

T2 midfielder Dairon Asprilla was named to the USL Team of the Week for the 23rd week of the 2015 season, recognized for his strong performance over the weekend to help seal a 2-0 victory over Tulsa Roughnecks FC at Merlo Field. Asprilla, who made his first appearance with T2 on Saturday, started the match and was inspirational throughout, providing a pinpoint assist to Kharlton Belmar on the first goal of the game.

GK – Santiago Castaño, New York Red Bulls II: Had a six-save shutout to help the Red Bulls II claim a 2-0 victory on the road against Toronto


D – Jonathan Grant, FC Montreal: Had a strong performance in limiting Wilmington’s pacy attack as Montreal extended its undefeated streak to five games


D – Sam Fink, Saint Louis FC: Scored a late equalizer to push Saint Louis forward in its comeback 3-2 victory against Charleston


D – Fernando Timbo, Austin Aztex: Center back was excellent in winning possession and then helping distribute as Austin earned a 1-0 win against Orange County


M – Tony Walls, Rochester Rhinos: Marked his 50th USL regular season appearance with a goal as the Rhinos clinched a playoff place with a victory against Harrisburg


M – Yudai Imura, Richmond Kickers: Proved mobile and dangerous throughout, and helped lift the Kickers to a victory against Saint Louis with a tremendous goal


M – Dairon Asprilla, Portland Timbers 2: Provided inspiration throughout for T2, and had the assist on the opening goal in a 2-0 win against Tulsa

M – Enzo Martinez, Charlotte Independence: Had a goal and assist as the Independence took a vital victory against Pittsburgh in the race for the playoffs


F – Matt Fondy, Louisville City FC: Maintained his challenge for the USL Golden Boot, and single-season scoring record, with two goals against Charleston


F – Myron Samuel, Seattle Sounders FC 2: Scored twice and added an assist as S2 took a big 3-2 win against Colorado Springs in the Western Conference playoff race


F – Steevan Dos Santos, Rochester Rhinos: Led from the front with two goals as the Rhinos scored a season-high four in their win against Harrisburg
