On Wednesday, the Portland Timbers beat Real Salt Lake 1-0 at Rio Tinto Stadium for the second time this season. It was also the third victory in the club's last four road matches. Here are three #StatMan takeaways from the match.
13 With a second-half penalty kick goal, Fanendo Adi scored his 13th goal of the season, moving further up Portland's goalscoring chart. The Nigerian forward, who celebrated his 25th birthday last Saturday, became the 10th Timber in the club's 40-year history to score 13 or more goals in a single season.
13The Portland defense earned its MLS-leading 13th shutout of the 2015 season. For goalkeeper Adam Kawarsey, who has been in-between the pipes for all 13 clean sheets, it is just the 10th time in the 20 seasons of MLS that a goalkeeper has had 13 or more clean sheets in a single season.
13With the victory, the Timbers have 13 road victories since the beginning of the 2014 season. The 13 away wins are the most in MLS over the last two seasons.
25The match was the 100th MLS match as manager for head coach Caleb Porter. Porter is the 31st manager in league history to reach the 100-match plateau. Porter's record of 39-25-36 ties him with Dominic Kinnear for fewest losses in a MLS head coach's first 100 games.
