The 2015 college men’s soccer regular season continues to heat up as the Portland Timbers Academy alumni are on five different NCAA teams who are ranked in the Top 25 teams.

This week, junior goalkeeper Mitch North registered his sixth shutout of the season, coming up with two saves in a 3-0 win for Sonoma State over UC-San Diego. Additionally, No. 6-ranked Akron moved up in the ranks with help from three Timbers Academy alums. The sophomore trio of defender Niko De Vera, midfielder Jesse Garcia-Aguilar and forward Anthony Macchione all contributed on the field to help the Zips’ to a 4-0 shutout win over Northern Illinois on Oct. 17.

Throughout the season, we will keep fans updated on Timbers Academy alumni who are competing at the collegiate level.
