Shim and Iga FC fall in close contest
Mana Shim appeared in her third consecutive game for Iga FC on Saturday in a 1-0 loss against Speranza FC Takatsuki. Shim started in her second match this season for the team, logging 90 minutes.


Up Next:  Iga FC squares off against AS Elfen Saitama on Saturday, Oct. 31 and then face a quick turnaround with a match on Tuesday, Nov. 3 against Okayama Yunogo Belle.

W-League: Betos, Johnson in action in round two
Michelle Betos (Sydney FC) and Kendall Johnson (Western Sydney Wanderers) were both in action over the week as both player’s squads suffered losses in round two action.

Up Next: The Sydney Derby as the Wanderers and Sydney FC meet in search of their first win on Saturday, Oct. 31.


Both Clare Polkinghorne (Brisbane Roar) and Steph Catley (Melbourne City FC) teams earned wins over the weekend, but both players were away on international duty. Brisbane and Melbourne City FC look to remain perfect through their first three weeks of games as City FC takes on Perth Glory and the Roar square off against Adelaide United on Saturday.

USWNT registers 3-1 win against Brazil in Orlando


The U.S. Women’s National Team said goodbye to Lauren Holiday and Lori Chalupny in style with a 3-1 win against Brazil on Sunday at the Citrus Bowl. The match marked the final game for both Holiday and Chalupny. Midfielder

tallied the assist on the United States opening goal in the ninth minute. Brazil pulled one back just before halftime, but the United States answered quickly to take the lead back through Crystal Dunn in first-half stoppage time and added an insurance goal deep in second-half stoppage time from Stephanie McCaffrey.

ICYMI: The New Kids aka Tobin Heath, Lauren Holiday and Amy Rodriguez got together one final time and talked about their time together on the USWNT.


Up Next: The U.S. will be off during the month of November but has four games on the schedule in December, beginning with a match in Honolulu, Hawaii on Dec. 6 against Trinidad & Tobago.

England, Australia wrap up CFA International Women’s Football Tournament
Australia earned a 1-1 draw with China and fell 1-0 to England in international action over the weekend and into early this week. Steph Catley started and logged 90 minutes in both matches, while defender Clare Polkinghorne earned minutes in a substitute role against China.

After suffering a defeat to China, England bounced back to claim a 1-0 win against the Matildas as forward Jodie Taylor subbed into the match in the 57th minute.

Brynjarsdottir helps keep Iceland atop group at EURO 2017 qualifiers 
Newest Thorns FC midfielder Dangy Brynjarsdottir helped lead Iceland to a pair of wins at EURO 2017 qualifiers with victories against Macedonia (4-0) on Oct. 22 and Slovenia (6-0) on Monday. Brynjarsdottir started in both matches and tallied a brace in the win over Slovenia.
