Sinclair chasing history; ties Mia Hamm for second on all-time scoring list
The Canada Women’s National Team returned to the field for the first time since hosting the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in July and played two games in Brazil last week.

Forward Christine Sinclair moved one step closer to etching her name in the history books. First she netted a brace in 3-0 win against Mexico on Dec. 9 to pull within a single goal of second place on the all-time scoring list, currently occupied by Mia Hamm.

The Canadian captain then pulled level with Hamm in a 4-0 win over Trinidad & Tobago on Dec. 13. Sinclair has 158 goals for her career and will pass Hamm to claim sole possession of second on the list with her next goal, which could happen as soon as today against Brazil; kickoff is set for 3:45 p.m. (Pacific). In addition, the watch will begin as she attempts to chase down Abby Wambach who has 184 career goals, but is set to retire and will play her final match today.

Heath dazzles with another eye-popping move; USWNT get two more wins on Victory Tour
The U.S. Women’s National Team registered a pair of wins last week, downing Trinidad & Tobago 6-0 in San Antonio on Dec. 10 before picking up a 2-0 win over China on Dec. 13.

Tobin Heath and Meghan Klingenberg started both matches for the U.S., but what stood out was once again the trickery of Heath as her moves near the end line were so good a Chinese defender fell down trying to stop her.

Heath, Klingenberg and the rest of the USWNT finish their Victory Tour tonight as they bid farewell to USWNT great Abby Wambach in New Orleans against China at 5 p.m. (Pacific) on FOX Sports 1.

Up next for the USWNT, January camp followed by a friendly against Ireland on Jan. 23 at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, Calif.

Betos and Sydney FC continue to climb W-League table
Sydney FC moved into third place and is just three points shy of second place Canberra United after a 4-2 win against Perth Glory over the weekend as Michelle Betos picked up the win in goal for the Sky Blues.
