After a 1-0 victory against then-defending champs Canberra United on Jan. 23, goalkeeper Michelle Betos and Sydney FC endured a tough 4-1 loss to Melbourne City FC in Australia’s W-League Grand Final on Saturday.

The win for Melbourne City capped a perfect end to an undefeated season.

Melbourne City, who scored three second-half goals, kept Betos and the Sydney FC backline busy all afternoon, attempting 11 shots from inside the area and putting nine of those on frame. Betos finished with five saves, including a pair on consecutive shots by City and Seattle Reign FC duo Kim Little and Jessica Fishlock late in the contest.

The Grand Final concluded Betos’ offseason loan with Sydney FC. In total, the goalkeeper played in 13 games, logging more than 1,100 minutes, 30 saves and four shutouts during the W-League campaign.
