SheBelieves Cup | Lindsey Horan, Tobin Heath and Meghan Klingenberg all start as US defeats France 1-0

In its second day of SheBelieves Cup action, the U.S. Women's National Team defeated France 1-0 behind a stoppage time goal from Alex Morgan.


Three Portland Thorns FC players started for the U.S., including forward Lindsey Horan, midfielder Tobin Heath and defender Meghan Klingenberg.

Meanwhile, in the day's second match, England took on Germany. While Thorns FC forward Jodie Taylor did not start the match, England nevertheless took an early lead through a 10th minute Toni Duggan goal. Germany would later equalize through an English own goal and took advantage of an 80th minute penalty kick to win the match 2-1. 

The U.S. will play two-time FIFA Women's World Cup winners Germany in Boca Raton, Fla. on Wednesday, March 9, at 4:30 p.m. PST. Jodie Taylor and the Lionesses, meanwhile, will play France at 2 p.m. PST on the 9th.
