SheBelieves Cup | U.S. win tournament with 2-1 victory over Germany

The U.S. Women's National Team defeated Germany 2-1 on Wednesday night behind goals from Alex Morgan and Samantha Mewis. With the win, the U.S. won the inaugural SheBelieves Cup, winning all three of its matches against England, France, and Germany. 


Morgan's game-tying goal, which came in the 35th minute, was assisted by Portland Thorns FC defender Meghan Klingenberg

Klingenberg started and played 90 minutes for the U.S. Thorns FC midfielder Tobin Heath and forward Lindsey Horan both came on as second-half substitutes to help preserve the U.S.'s 2-1 lead. 

Thorns FC forward Jodie Taylor did not suit up for England, but the Lionesses drew 0-0 with France to finish third overall in the four-team field.
