PORTLAND, Ore. – T2 have signed forward/midfielder Victor Arboleda, midfielder Christian Duarte, midfielder Irving Garcia and defender/midfielder Steve Palacios, it was announced today. Both Arboleda and Garcia will be added to the T2 roster pending the receipt of their International Transfer Certificates (ITC).
Arboleda, 19, joins T2 from Primera Division side Deportivo Cali in Colombia, scoring two goals in eight appearances for the club. Arboleda scored his first professional goal in a 2-0 win against América de Cali in the Copa Colombia on March 5, 2015. As a youth international, Arboleda has played at the U-15 and U-17 level for Colombia, tallying one goal in three games at the U17 South American Championship.
Duarte, 22, played at California State University-Bakersfield (2012-15). As a senior, Duarte appeared in 19 matches (all starts), tallying six goals and two assists for the Roadrunners and earned first team all-region and all-conference honors. As a youth international, Duarte has played with the U.S. U-17 and U-20 national teams.
Garcia, 28, previously played for FC Rosario in Guatemala during the 2015 season. During his career, Garcia also had stints with Antigua GFC in Guatemala and the Los Angeles Blues, now Orange County Blues FC in USL.
Palacios, 22, spent the 2015 season with USL side LA Galaxy II after closing out his collegiate career at Cal Poly in 2014. In four seasons for the Mustangs, Palacios appeared in 66 games (43 starts), tallying two goals in 18 games as a senior in 2014. Additionally, Palacios played for PDL sides Ventura County Fusion (2013, 2014) and Orange County Blue Star (2012).
T2 will open the 2016 USL season on the road against Swope Park Rangers on Saturday, March 26, at 5:30 p.m. (Pacific) with a live web stream available at www.timbers2.com.
Following their USL regular-season opener against Swope Park Rangers, T2 will play host to Vancouver Whitecaps FC in their home opener on Saturday, April 2, at Merlo Field; kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. (Pacific).
