PORTLAND, Ore. – In the second of three preseason matches as part of a tournament at Providence Park, Portland Thorns FC received a hat-trick from forward Nadia Nadim in a 3-0 win over Oregon State on Wednesday night.

Nadim opened the scoring for Portland in the 33rd minute. Keeping possession following a corner kick, defender Kat Williamson delivered a cross into the box for Nadim, who settled the ball and delivered a strike from 10 yards out into the right corner of the goal.

The Danish international completed the hat-trick with a pair of goals in the second half, tallying goals in the 58th and 68th minutes. Nadim doubled Portland’s lead in the 58th minute, collecting a loose ball off a deflected cross and finishing with a powerful shot off the left post and into the goal. Just 10 minutes later, Nadim converted into the top, right corner after receiving a pass from forward Christine Sinclair near the edge of the goal box to put Thorns FC in front 3-0 in the match.

Portland fielded a starting lineup that featured six players that did not appear in the starting lineup on Sunday against Seattle Reign FC. A total of 15 players saw action on the field for Thorns FC, including Mana Shim, Adrianna Franch, Mallory Weber, who the club acquired as part of a trade with the Western New York Flash, and Portland’s third-round pick in the 2016 NWSL College Draft, McKenzie Berryhill, who all made their first appearance of the preseason.
