Portland Thorns FC and Your Local Toyota Dealers are partnering to honor difference-makers in the Portland community throughout the 2016 NWSL season. With the goal of honoring those that are most deserving, recipients are nominated by our valued community partners. Honorees receive tickets, autograph passes and Thorns FC merchandise. Six (6) Community All-Stars will be recognized during the 2016 season at the following matches: April 17 vs. Orlando Pride; May 29 vs. Seattle Reign; June 22vs. Chicago Red Stars; July 9 vs. FC Kansas City; July 30 vs. Seattle Reign; September 11 vs. Western NY Flash.
Yesenia Delgado currently works at Hacienda Community Development Corporation as a Housing Counselor. She also works at the Rockwood Initiative, where her vision is to continue to create safe and consistent environments where youth can play the beautiful game of soccer in the same neighborhood where she grew up.
Her passion for using soccer as a vehicle to reach youth in Rockwood developed during her time working at Active Children Portland. During Yesenia's time at Active Children Portland she helped; manage the soccer programs, develop family engagement techniques, manage summer soccer programs, and create new community connections. Active Children Portland is thrilled to continue working with Yesenia in her new roles at Hacienda CDC and with the Rockwood Initiative.
