For the first time in Portland's U.S. Open Cup history, the team will take on the LA Galaxy as the clubs square off Wednesday night at Providence Park (7:30pm PT, Timbers.com) in the fifth round of the competition. Here are five numbers to know in a special U.S. Open Cup edition of Quick Strikes.

4 Since Caleb Porter took over as Portland's manager prior to 2013 season, the Timbers have four victories over MLS teams in the U.S. Open Cup. The Philadelphia Union are the only MLS team with more victories over MLS teams in USOC since 2013.

16 The Galaxy are the 16th different team that the Timbers have faced off against in the U.S. Open Cup. LA is also the sixth different MLS team that Portland has taken on in the Cup.

2.13 In eight competitive matches at Providence Park this season, Portland has averaged 2.13 goals per match. In their MLS Cup winning season last year, the Timbers averaged 1.4 goals per competitive home match.

12 With his assist against San Jose in the fourth round, Jack McInerney became the 12th different MLS Timbers player to have an assist in the U.S. Open Cup.

1 LA has just one victory over the Timbers in Providence Park in the MLS era with Portland currently riding a four-game home unbeaten streak against the Galaxy. The one road victory is the fewest by LA against any MLS Western Conference opponent.
