Fanendo Adi, Timbers vs. Seattle, 7.17.16

Coming off a weekend victory over Seattle Sounders FC, the Portland Timbers look to extend their nine-game unbeaten run against LA Galaxy Saturday afternoon at Providence Park (12:30pm PT, ESPN). Here are five numbers to know in the latest Quick Strikes.

4 MidfielderDiego Valeri has notched four goals in his last two regular-season games with braces against Seattle last Sunday and against Houston on June 26. Valeri is the first player in Portland's MLS history to tally four goals over the course of two consecutive games played.

5 Since the beginning of the 2015 season, forward Fanendo Adi has scored five goals against the Galaxy. Adi's five goals are the most scored by any MLS player against a single Western Conference opponent in that timespan.

51 Portland and LA have combined to score 51 goals in their 15 MLS regular-season matches. Only one other MLS matchup (LA against San Jose) has seen more goals tallied since the start of the 2011 season.

20 The Timbers have scored 20 goals in the second half of MLS games this season, which is tied for the most in MLS with Real Salt Lake. Eight different Timbers players have scored second-half goals in 2016.

.5 Over the course of the last four regular-season games, Portland has conceded just two goals. The goals against average of .5 is the lowest in a four-game stretch for the Timbers this season.
