Five Thorns FC players named to U.S. Women's National Team roster for November friendly matches against Romania

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Thorns FC midfielders Tobin Heath, Lindsey Horan and Allie Long, defender Meghan Klingenberg and goalkeeper Adrianna Franch have been named to the U.S. Women’s National Team’s 24-player training camp roster in preparation for the final two matches of the 2016 schedule against Romania on Nov. 10 and Nov. 13, it was announced today.

The Nov. 10 match against Romania will be played at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Calif., with a live broadcast on ESPN2; kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (Pacific). The Nov. 13 contest will be played at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif., with a live broadcast on FS1; kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. (Pacific). Head coach Jill Ellis will name 18 players to suit up for each match.


Heath (126 caps), Horan (28 caps) and Long (18 caps) were all included on the U.S. Women’s National Team roster that defeated Switzerland in back-to-back matches in a 4-0 win on Oct. 20 and a 5-1 win on Oct. 23. Klingenberg (70 caps), last appeared for the national team in the 2016 Rio Olympics, where she started and played in three matches. Franch, who has yet to receive an international cap, was called into the national team’s January training camp earlier this year.
