Quick Strikes | Timbers hottest team in MLS in first 15 and final 15 minutes of matches

For the third consecutive match, the Portland Timbers will take on an Eastern Conference opponent when they square off with the Philadelphia Union Saturday at Talen Energy Stadium (4p.m. PT, ROOT SPORTS). Here are five numbers to know for #PHIvPOR in the latest edition of Quick Strikes.

18 After an impressive home debut against the New England Revolution, defender Marco Farfan was named to MLSSoccer.com's Team of the Week. At 18 years of age, Farfan is the youngest player to be named to a team of the week this season.

5/4 In 2017, the Timbers have been able to score goals both early and late. Portland has scored more goals in both the first 15 minutes of matches (five) and in the last 15 minutes of matches (four) than any other team in MLS.

42 While Diego Valeri continues his ascent on the Timbers goal-scoring list, he is also near the top of another. With his 42 career goals, Valeri has the fourth most goals ever scored by an Argentine player in MLS behind only Fabian Espindola (64), Javier Morales (49), and Christian Gomez (48).

21 No player in MLS has had more tackles in MLS this season than Alvas Powell with 21. The Jamaican defender is one of five Timbers to have played every minute so far this season.

11 Dating back to last season, the Philadelphia Union are winless in their last 11 regular-season games and have four points in that span. In their last 11 games, the Timbers have 19 points from six wins and a draw.
