PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Thorns FC forward Christine Sinclair has been named to the Canada Women’s National Team roster for a pair of friendlies against Costa Rica on June 8 and June 11.
Sinclair and Canada will play host to Costa Rica on June 8 in Winnipeg at 5:30 p.m. (Pacific) and June 11 in Toronto at 11 a.m. (Pacific).
With 257 international caps, Sinclair has tallied 167 career goals, and most recently started in matches against Sweden (April 6) and Germany (April 9), registering the game-winning assist in a 1-0 win against Sweden.
The 2017 season marks Sinclair’s fifth season with Thorns FC. Sinclair made her 70th career appearance for Portland on May 27 against Boston and has started all seven games this season, scoring one goal.
Thorns FC travel to Piscataway, N.J. for a road match against Sky Blue FC on Saturday, June 3, at Yurcak Field. Saturday’s match kicks off at 4 p.m. (Pacific) and features a live, high-definition web stream available at www.nwslsoccer.com and www.go90.com.
