The match on Sunday marks the second and final regular-season game between the two clubs in 2017. T2 (1-14-2, 5pts) enter Sunday’s match after falling 4-3 at home to LA Galaxy II at Providence Park on July 9. Portland opened the scoring in the 25th minute when defender Marco Farfan played a perfect cross from the left wing into the six-yard box that found forward Jeremy Ebobisse, whose leaping header found the back of the net for his first goal of the campaign. T2 doubled their lead in the 33rd minute when defender Max Ornstil went on a long run from midfield, cut inside onto his right foot and sent a curling shot from just outside the six-yard box into the top right corner of the net to give T2 a 2-0 lead. After LA took a 4-2 lead in the second half, T2 got a goal back when Farfan played a ball in behind the LA defense towards the path of midfielder Victor Arboleda, who blasted a powerful curling effort from the left edge of the penalty area into the far corner of the net to make it a 4-3 game.

Swope Park (10-4-2, 32pts) enters Sunday’s contest following a 1-0 victory on the road over Whitecaps FC 2 at Thunderbird Stadium on Wednesday. The Rangers currently sit in third place in the Western Conference standings and are on a five-game winning streak. Forward Kharlton Belmar and midfielder Mark Gonzalez are tied for the team lead with five goals this season. Midfielder Kévin Oliveira leads the team and ranks tied for third in the USL with five assists, while goalkeeper Adrian Zendejas leads the team with 32 saves and four shutouts in 11 appearances in 2017.
