The Portland Timbers return home to take on the New York Red Bulls Friday night at Providence Park (7pm PT, FS1). Here are five numbers to know for #PORvNY in the latest Quick Strikes. 


100 With 50 goals and 50 assists, midfielder Diego Valeri has become the first Timbers player to have 100 or more combined goals and assists in all eras of the club. Valeri is one of two players with 50-plus goals (Fanendo Adiis the other) and one of three players with 50-plus assists (John Bain and Willie Anderson). He is also one of only 18 players in MLS history to achieve the feat.


14 The Timbers have scored multiple goals in 14 different matches this season. Only NYC FC has more games scoring two or more goals this year than Portland. 


7 The match against the Red Bulls will be Portland's third Friday night game this season, with Portland having won both of the previous two. Dating back to 2014, the Timbers are unbeaten in their last seven Friday night matches (4-0-3).

Portland leads the Western Conference with 43 goals scored this season In fact, the Timbers have scored at least one goal in 12 straight games, which is the longest active current streak in MLS. 


13 This season Portland has had 13 different players with an assist with Diego Chara becoming the latest player with to earn an assist in 2017. For comparison, in 2016 the Timbers had 12 different players with at least one assist.
