MLS Team of the Week (Wk 25): Diego Valeri continues goal-scoring streak with two more

Diego Valeri, Timbers vs. Colorado Rapids, 08.23.17

There's perhaps no one more in form across MLS than Diego Valeri. He scored twice last week, with goals against Colorado Rapids and Seattle Sounders FC, to extend his scoring streak to six straight matches - the longest run of consecutive games with a goal in the league this season.

With his two tallies in Week 25, Valeri became the club's all-time leading goal-scorer (53 goals) and notched his 16th of the campaign on Sunday in Seattle, which ties a club MLS-era record for single-season goals.

Valeri has been named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 25, while teammate Vytas has earned a spot on the Team of the Week bench with a pair of assists in the team's home win against Colorado on Aug. 23.
