Quick Strikes | Timbers unbeaten in five of their past six games against the Dynamo

Quick Strikes, Timbers vs. Dynamo, 10.27.17

The Portland Timbers will begin their Audi 2017 MLS Cup Playoffs campaign when they take on the Houston Dynamo Monday at BBVA Compass Stadium (6:30pm PT, FS1) in the first leg of the Western Conference Semifinals. Here are five numbers to know for #HOUvPOR in special playoffs edition of Quick Strikes.

8 In just four matches since the beginning of the 2016 season, Diego Valeri has a combined eight goals plus assists against Houston. No player has more than Valeri's eight against a single opponent over the last two seasons.

3 Since Caleb Porter took over as manager in 2013, the Timbers have won three road matches in the playoffs. In all other Western Conference playoff matches in that span, away teams have a combined three wins.

6 Portland is currently on a six-match unbeaten run in postseason play. The streak is tied for the third longest streak in MLS playoff history behind only the LA Galaxy (2005-2010) and D.C. United (1996-1998).

1 The Timbers enter the postseason as the No. 1 seed for the second time in MLS play. In 2013, they won their playoff opener, defeating Seattle Sounders FC on the road.

5 The Timbers are unbeaten in five of their last six matches against the Dynamo, going 1-0-1 against Houston this season with a 4-2 victory at home and a 2-2 draw at BBVA Compass Stadium in July.
