With back-to-back picks in the first round and a trade into the third round, it was a busy day for Thorns FC head coach Mark Parsons and his staff at the 2018 NWSL College Draft in Philadelphia.
Selecting two midfielders with the eighth and ninth overall picks in Sandra Yu out of Notre Dame and Gabby Seiler out of Florida, Portland also traded their 2019 natural third round pick to the Chicago Red Stars for a 2018 third round pick to nab Oregon State goalkeeper Bella Geist.
