T2 looking to bounce back
Playing their third straight match on the road to open the season, T2 fell 4-2 to Real Monarchs SLC at Rio Tinto Stadium on March 31. After falling behind 3-0 to begin the match, Portland cut into Monarchs SLC’s lead when forward Jeremy Ebobisse got on the end of the flicked ball and redirected his header at Monarchs SLC goalkeeper Andrew Putna, who initially made the save only for Ebobisse to slot the rebound into the back of the net in the 35th minute.
T2 scored in the 59th minute after midfielder Andre Lewis played a ball over the top of the Monarchs SLC defense that released midfielder Victor Arboleda into space on the edge of the 18-yard box. Arboleda took a touch just before Putna could get a hand to the ball and calmly rolled the ball into the back of the net. The assist marked Lewis’ first of 2018.
Real Monarchs scored to make it a 4-2 game after midfielder Sebastian Velasquez dribbled past his defender and finished at the far post in the 66th minute.
