The Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders FC are set to face off in the 100th all-time meeting between the two clubs on Sunday (1pm PT, ESPN).
The two teams will be commemorating the match in a number of ways:
Both clubs will have the special edition PDX-SEA 100 logo affixed to their kit for the game as a patch. The Timbers game-worn kits will be available via an online auction following the match; on-sale date to be determined. All proceeds will benefit the team’s Stand Together community platform.
Beginning Saturday, the club will offer the patch for $10 at the Portland Gear location, but will be unable to adhere it to any current jerseys at that time. Supporters attending the match can bring the patch back to the jersey stand in the stadium on Sunday to have it applied, or anytime during daily store hours at Portland Gear. Alternatively, it can be kept as a keepsake. Note that the patch will only be available for embellishment onto the current version of the kit (either primary or secondary).
On Sunday, the club will sell the patches and offer on-site jersey customization at multiple stands inside Providence Park.
Also, the Timbers Army has designed a special pennant that will be used as part of the captain’s exchange before the match. Of note in the design: there are 100 pieces that comprise the rose and three triangles as part of the stem that represent the three eras the teams have played in.
These will also be available at the three closest retail locations to the Timbers Army in Providence Park as part of the Crosscut Collection in collaboration with the 107ist. Only 100 are being produced.
The special edition, game-worn captain’s armband will also be available for purchase following the match via the Stand Together online auction.
A special PDX-SEA100 t-shirt will be on sale at shop.timbers.com exclusively; tees are $19.99 for youth and $24.99 for adult men’s and women’s styles.
Finally, there will be a custom PDX-SEA 100 scarf (seen above) available at the match – at in-stadium retail locations for $30 – and on a limited edition run of 100 for sale.
