Match Moments

21' - CHANCE (POR) - After forcing a turnover in their own end, Valeri countered forward up the middle. He played the ball out right to Dairon Asprilla who went straight to goal with a hard shot, forcing a save from Seattle goalkeeper Bryan Meredith.

22' - CHANCE (POR) - On the ensuing corner kick, Valeri served an outswinger into the mixer that Mabiala leapt high to head towards the back post only to have Meredith make a diving save to palm away.

27' - CHANCE (POR) - Timbers 'keeper Jeff Attinella threw a pinpoint ball out to Asprilla on the left. He carried in, cut the ball towards Armenteros at the top of the six. The striker tried to backheel it but the ball deflected out to Andrés Flores. Flores' shot was sent just over the crossbar.

44' - SAVE (POR) - After movement around the box from Seattle, the ball rolled out to Sounders midfielder Cristian Roldan who took a shot from the edge of the 18-yard box that Attinella dove to his right to parry away.

47' - SAVE (POR) - Attinella came up big again on the other side of halftime when Nicolas Lodeiro sent a free kick to the back post for Víctor Rodríguez. Rodríguez headed it down but Attinella alertly blocked and covered the shot.

48' - GOAL (POR) - A moment later, Valeri sent in a perfectly served corner kick that Mabiala leapt to head in towards the back post and into the net to give Portland a 1-0 lead.

52' - GOAL (SEA) - Seattle tied it up at 1-1 after Lodeiro sent a ball into the back post from the right side that found Rodríguez who nodded it into the back of the goal.

57' - GOAL (POR) - Portland sprinted out on a breakneck counter led by Valeri. He sent a nicely weighted ball to Armenteros on the run who raced into the box, cut the ball back to his left foot and rifled a shot into the bottom left corner for a 2-1 Timbers lead.

64' - CHANCE (POR) - Armenteros nearly had another goal as he hustled for a loose ball at the edge of the area, got a hold of it but his side-footed shot went wide of the left post.

68' - GOAL (SEA) - Seattle's Loderio's corner kick was met by defender Chad Marshall in the box who headed it into the goal to tie the score at 2-2.

74' - GOAL (POR) - Timbers went out the lead again as Mabiala scored his second of the match on a set piece, corner kick goal. It was Valeri's third assist in the game and put the lead at 3-2 for Portland.
