PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Thorns FC midfielders Tobin Heath and Lindsey Horan, goalkeeper Adrianna Franch and defender Emily Sonnett have been named to the 25-player U.S. Women’s National Team roster for a training camp ahead of the Tournament of Nations, spanning July 26-Aug. 2.
Heath, Horan, Franch and Sonnett will be unavailable for the club’s road match against Sky Blue FC on July 21. The four players will rejoin the team ahead of its next game, a road match against the North Carolina Courage on Sunday, Aug. 5.
All of the USWNT matches will feature a live national television broadcast on FS1. The USWNT will open the tournament against Japan on July 26 at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kan.; kickoff is set for 4 p.m. (Pacific). In its second match, the USWNT takes on Australia on July 29 at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn. at 4 p.m. (Pacific). In the final match of the tournament at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Ill. on Aug. 2, the USWNT squares off against Brazil at 5:30 p.m. (Pacific).
