MATCH RECAP | Portland Timbers 2, Montréal Impact 2

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers twice came back from deficits as they drew the Montreal Impact, 2-2, Saturday night at Providence Park. Samuel Armenteros and Diego Valeri scored the goals as Portland extended its MLS unbeaten streak to 13 consecutive matches.

Match Moments

21' - CHANCE (POR) - After both teams exchanged possession around the midfield for the beginning of the match, the first chance came when Sebastián Blanco's left-footed shot from distance went wide of the Montreal net.

23' - GOAL (MON) - Montreal's Saphir Taider shot from just inside the top of the box was able to sneak past the outstretched arm of Jeff Attinella to give Montreal the lead, 1-0.

26' - CHANCE (POR) - Valeri's header was too high after receiving a pinpoint cross from Armenteros.

39' - GOAL (POR) - After Montreal's goalkeeper Evan Bush dropped the ball in his own goalmouth, Armenteros pounced, firing a one-time shot into the goal to temporarily tie up the match, 1-1.

41' - GOAL (MON) - Montreal answered almost immediately as Matteo Mancosu chested down a long pass and finished with his left foot to give the visitors a 2-1 lead.

53' - CHANCE (POR) - Beating an attempted offside trap by Montreal, Blanco played a beautiful ball to a cutting Valeri. Valeri's touch, however, found the waiting arms of Bush.

65' - GOAL (POR) - Valeri tied the match up at 2-2 when the reigning MLS MVP headed the ball home from point-blank range. The goal was set up after Bush was unable to handle a cross from Blanco.

77' - CHANCE (POR) - Defender Alvas Powell, who consistently found himself in the attack in the match, fired a long-range shot with the outside of his right foot that forced Bush into a diving save.
