Quick Strikes | Unbeaten streaks adding up for Timbers

Diego Valeri, Timbers vs. Montreal, 7.21.18

In its first match after the MLS All-Star Game, the Portland Timbers welcome the Philadelphia Union Saturday night to Providence Park (8pm PT, FOX 12 PLUS). Here are the five numbers to know for #PORvPHI in the latest edition of Quick Strikes.

14 Portland is in the midst of a 14-game unbeaten streak in league play, which is the only double-digit unbeaten run in MLS this season. In the history of the league, there have only been five unbeaten streaks longer in a single MLS season.

15 In its last 15 regular-season home games, Portland is undefeated with 12 wins and three draws. The 15-match unbeaten streak at Providence Park is the third-longest home unbeaten streak in all eras of the club.

16 After his late assist in Saturday's win over Houston, Diego Valeri now has 16 game-winning assists in his MLS career. Among active MLS players, Valeri is tied for sixth-most career game-winning assists.

6X3 With his goal against the Dynamo, Sebastián Blanco became the third Timbers player to score six or more goals this season, joining Valeri and Samuel Armenteros. The Timbers are just one of five MLS teams with three players with six or more goals in 2018.

56In MLS play, the Timbers have scored more goals (56) in August than any other month while their 15 August wins is second, only behind their 17 victories secured in the month of May.
