Quick Strikes | Timbers look to continue road unbeaten form with trip to D.C.

Diego Valeri, Timbers vs. Houston, 7.28.18

For the first time this season, the Timbers will play an MLS match midweek as they take on D.C. United at Audi Field Wednesday night (5pm PT, ROOT SPORTS). Here are five numbers to know for #DCvPOR.

27 Defender Zarek Valentin, who has played every match for the Timbers this season, leads the team in tackles with 27. Despite playing mostly as a fullback this season, Valentin is third in chances created for Portland in 2018.

5 The Timbers are currently in the midst of a five-game road unbeaten streak with a 3-0-2 record. The streak is tied for the longest current road unbeaten streak in MLS and is the second-longest road unbeaten streak for Portland since joining MLS in 2011.

2Diego Valeri has both drawn and converted a penalty kick in each of the club's last two matches. Valeri is the first MLS player in the Opta era (2010-) to earn and score a penalty kick in consecutive matches.

28 Audi Field will be the 28th different stadium to host the Timbers in an MLS match. The new stadium will also be the 106th different visiting stadium for the Timbers in the 43-year history of the club.

4 If former England captain Wayne Rooney plays for D.C. on Wednesday, it will be the fourth time this season that the Timbers have faced off with a player who is his country's all-time leading goalscorer. The Timbers are undefeated against those players in 2018 with a 3-0-1 record against Zlatan Ibrahamovic (Sweden/LA Galaxy), David Villa (Spain/New York City FC), and Clint Dempsey (United States/Seattle Sounders FC).
