Quick Strikes | Timbers and Sounders to meet for 25th time in MLS play

For the final time in the 2018 regular season, the Portland Timbers will face off against Seattle Sounders FC when the Cascadia rivals meet Sunday at Providence Park (6:30pm PT, FS1). Here are five numbers to know for #PORvSEA in the latest edition of Quick Strikes.

25 Sunday's match will be the 25th MLS match between the Timbers and Sounders FC since Portland joined the league in 2011. In those 22 regular-season and two playoff matches, Portland and Seattle each have nine wins with six matches ending in draws.

2 In the last meeting between the clubs, defender Larrys Mabiala became the fourth Timbers player to secure a brace against the Sounders in MLS play. In the 43-year history of the rivalry, Mabiala was just the seventh Timbers player to record a multi-goal game against Seattle.

7 Reigning MLS MVP Diego Valeri has delivered seven career assists in MLS matches against the Sounders. Valeri is tied with the retired Brad Davis for most career MLS assists against Seattle.

610 In the 22 regular-season MLS matches between the rivals, a total of 610 shots have been attempted, which is the most of any MLS fixture since Portland joined the league in 2011. Additionally, the 71 goals scored is just one behind the LA Galaxy and the San Jose Earthquakes for most goals in any matchup in that span.

4 The Timbers are unbeaten in their last four matches against the Sounders with two wins and two draws. The streak is the longest undefeated run against Seattle for Portland in the regular-season since 2003-2004 when the clubs played in the A-League.
