The Portland Timbers returned to the win column behind goals from David Guzmán and Diego Chara in a 2-0 win over Toronto Wednesday night at Providence Park. Here are three key #StatMan takeaways from #PORvTOR.
1Diego Chara, who was playing in his 225th MLS match for the Timbers, scored his first goal of the season. The goal was the eighth of the midfielder's MLS career and his first since March 12, 2017.
6X6 With his one-touch pass to Chara, Sebastián Blanco recorded his sixth assist of the season to go along with his six goals. Blanco is one of two Timbers players to record at least six goals and six assists in two different MLS seasons for the club, joining Diego Valeri.
7 Portland's defense left Toronto FC with few opportunities as the Canadian club had just one shot on goal in route to the seventh shutout of the season for the Timbers. With his seventh clean sheet this season, goalkeeper Jeff Attinella moves into the top 10 for most shutouts in a single season in all eras of the Timbers.
