Quick Strikes | Timbers seek to continue success at Rio Tinto Stadium

Sebastian Blanco, Timbers @ RSL, 9.16.17

In the first of consecutive matches against Real Salt Lake, the Portland Timbers will take on the Utah club at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday night (6:30pm PT, ROOT SPORTS). Here are five numbers to know for #RSLvPOR in the latest Quick Strikes.

3 In their last five MLS matches at Real Salt Lake, the Timbers have scored in all five matches while compiling a record of 3-1-1. The three total wins at Rio Tinto Stadium are one behind BC Place as the location where the Timbers have collected the most away wins.

4 After missing Portland's previous match due to yellow card accumulation, Sebastián Blanco will look to continue his recent form. Blanco has one goal and three assists in his previous four matches.

7 This will be the seventh time that the Timbers will play the same opponent in consecutive MLS matches. In the previous six occurrences, Portland has a record of 7-4-1.

9 In 2018, the Timbers have shut out their opponents on nine different occasions, which is tied for the third-most in a single MLS season for the club.

2 With three MLS regular-season matches remaining for each club, just two points separate Portland and Real Salt Lake in the Western Conference Playoff race. The Timbers are currently in fourth place with 48 points while RSL is in the sixth and final playoff spot on 46 points.
