The Portland Timbers kick off their Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs campaign with a Knockout Round match at FC Dallas on Wednesday at Toyota Stadium (6:30pm PT, ROOT SPORTS). Here are five numbers to know for #DALvPOR in a special, playoff-edition of Quick Strikes.

3 Portland has proven to be one of the best teams in MLS history on the road in postseason play. The Timbers have won three away matches in the MLS playoffs in six matches, having lost just once away from home.

5 Midfielder Diego Valeri has stepped up in the playoffs on numerous occasions for the Timbers. In addition to his 2015 MLS Cup goal, Valeri has five postseason assists, which is tied for second-most among active MLS players.

2 In its all-era playoff history, the Timbers have twice traveled to Texas for the postseason. In 2017, the club played to a 0-0 draw in Houston, while in 2015 it clinched a spot in the MLS Cup Final with a 2-2 draw at FC Dallas.

15 This season marks the 15th time, the club has earned a spot in its league's postseason. In MLS play, Portland has qualified in three of the last four seasons.

10/31 When the match kicks off, it will become the 10th game in league history to be played on Halloween. FC Dallas, then known as the Dallas Burn, also played in the first league game played on Oct. 31, losing 2-1 to the Los Angeles Galaxy in 1999.
