MATCH RECAP | Colorado Rapids 3, Portland Timbers 3

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – In blizzard conditions and what marked the coldest game in MLS history, the Portland Timbers drew 10-man Colorado Rapids 3-3 Saturday evening at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. Diego Valeri had a goal and an assist while Sebastián Blanco also opened his 2019 account in the draw.

27' - RED CARD (COL) - Colorado went down to 10 men when defender Axel Sjöberg was called for an intentional hand ball in the box. Portland was also awarded a penalty kick.

29' - GOAL (POR) - Diego Valeri tied the game up when he scored off in his own rebound following his penalty kick attempt. His initial shot was saved by Rapids goalkeeper Tim Howard but the ball bounced right back to Valeri who knocked it into the net to even the score at 1-1.

38' - CHANCE (POR) - Portland's Sebastián Blanco darted and dipped through the Colorado backline before firing a left-footed shot that forced a fingertip save from Howard.

40' - SAVE (POR) - Timbers goalkeeper Jeff Attinella jumped high to tip over the bar a dangerous Colorado shot near the end of the first half.

45' - CHANCE (POR) - Timbers' Andy Polo found some space near the top of the box, cut back, and took a shot that Howard pushed narrowly wide of the Colorado net.

45+1' - GOAL (POR) - On the ensuing corner, Valeri's corner kick was gently nicked in by Blanco near the back post to give Portland a 2-1 lead.

46' - GOAL (COL) - Moments after halftime, Colorado tied the game at 2-2 when Benny Feilhaber dribbled through the defense and slotted home the goal into the bottom left side.

66' - OWN GOAL (POR) - Portland went up 3-2 following some sustained pressure around the Colorado box that led to Polo breaking in the right channel and having his cross re-directed into the back of the Rapids net by defender Deklan Wynne for an own goal.

82' - CHANCE (POR) - Valeri curled in a dangerous free kick from the left side heading for the upper right corner that Howard leapt high to knock away.

90+4' - GOAL (COL) - The Rapids tied it near at the end of second half stoppage time as Andre Shinyashiki scored off a rebound at the back post to even the score at 3-3.
