Quick Strikes | Portland looks to continue success in 25th MLS meeting with Vancouver

The Portland Timbers will kick off their 2019 Cascadia Cup campaign when they square off with Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Friday night at BC Place (7:00pm PT, FOX 12 PLUS (KPDX)). Here are five numbers to know for #VANvPOR in the latest Quick Strikes. 


300Including the regular season and playoffs, the Timbers will be playing their 300th MLS match on Friday night. The club is 113-100-86 in those matches with 433 goals scored. 


4 Over the last four weeks, no MLS player has more assists than Blanco's four. Blanco, who has a goal and four assists in Portland's last four matches, has 23 assists in three seasons with Portland. 


141 Since making his MLS debut with Portland in 2013, Diego Valeri has amassed 141 combined goals and assists, which is the most in MLS in that time span. The next closest player is Bradley Wright-Phillips, who has 132 combined goals and assists. 


25 Friday's match will be the 25th MLS match (regular season and playoffs) between the Whitecaps and the Timbers. Since the clubs both joined MLS in 2011, Portland leads the way with a 11-6-7 record. 


3Portland has had three players be named to the MLS Team of the Week in three straight weeks: Goalkeeper Steve Clark(Week 10), midfielder Sebastián Blanco (Week 9) and defender Jorge Moreira (week 8).
